Attachment-Based Therapy

Are you a parent of a newly adopted infant, toddler, or preschooler?

Has your child experienced a traumatic incident and started acting out as a result?

As an adult, are your own attachment wounds beginning to impact your parenting or relationships?

Modern brain research and the field of neuroscience have shown that attachment is the way in which humans come to understand, trust and thrive in their world. This concept does not just apply to children, it applies to all of us.

An attachment-based approach can be used in individual, family, couple, and group therapy, with both children and/or adults, to help clients mend or recover from fractured family relationships.

Fees for Therapy:

$200 Initial Intake

$120 for 60-minute

$90 for 45-minute

$60 for 30-minute

All services are conducted in the natural environment (i.e. home, school, and community) and telehealth with the goal of immediate generalization of treatment gains to real-world settings and situations. To compensate for the clinician’s travel time, a fee may be charged for services provided outside of telehealth. This will be billed to you in 15-minute increments at the hourly rate of $120.

        Child Parent Relationship Therapy

        10-Week Parent Training

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a play-based treatment program for young children 3-8 years old, who struggle with behavioral, emotional, social, and attachment challenges.

In this 10-week evidence-based therapy program, the therapist teaches parents the skills to respond more effectively to their children’s emotional and behavioral needs by providing “special playtimes” with their child.

The goal of CPRT is to strengthen the quality of the parent-child attachment bond as a means of reducing child behavior problems and stress in the parent-child relationship.

        How It Works:

CPRT is administered in 10 weekly, 1 hour telehealth sessions (2 hours for groups of 5-8 parents).

        • During sessions 1-3, parents learn child-centered play therapy skills, concepts, and attitudes.
        • In weeks 4-10, parents practice their new play skills in play sessions with their child, and the therapist reviews videos of parents’ play sessions to provide focused supervision and feedback.

Overall results indicate that CPRT is effective in reducing children’s behavior problems, decreasing parental stress, and increasing parental empathy. That is what you call a win-win.

        What’s the Difference?

Consulting is a service sought to answer a specific problem using the specialized expert knowledge of a professional.

Coaching is a service that helps caregivers learn how to manage their child’s behaviors more effectively by teaching strategies to address issues such as problems with routines and transitions power struggles, and behavior modification strategies.

Therapy is a process-oriented form of psychological counseling. We provide individual, family, couple, and group therapy, with both children and adults.

PLEASE NOTE: Consulting and coaching are NOT therapy and should never be used as a substitution for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. During the initial consultation processes fit for services will be determined.
